King Arthur was a legendary king of Medieval times.
Tradition says he had a foster parent and brother, Kay, who had been looking after him since his parents had died. King Uther Pendragon and Igranuye, wife of the Duke of Cornwall, before she married Uther, were his parents.
He was sent as a young boy to learn from Merlin the Celtic Pagan Wizard. At the end of his studies, when he was an older teenager his brother Kay had to go to a tournament and Arthur accompanied him as a squire. While there, Arthur removed the sword Excalibre from the stone.
Until Arthur was a teenager he did not known he was king.
Arthur was reknowned for his legendary knights of the round table.
